The Long Dock Pavilion in Southampton is being taken down due to structural and safety concerns.
The Town of Saugeen Shores says the pavilion, near Front Street South and Beach Road, has been closed and "will be removed in the coming weeks, following a structural assessment that deemed the facility unsafe for continued use."
Originally, the pavilion was set to get a new roof as part of the town's 2025 business plan. However, initial work revealed extensive damages and structural concerns.
The pavilion site is now closed and work has begun to remove it.
The Town of Saugeen Shores says council recognizes that the pavilion is "an important and much-loved part of the Southampton Beach and community. A plan for replacement will be brought forward to Council as part of the 2026 Business Plan and Budget."
