Visitors to Inglis Falls Conservation Area will now find it easier to enjoy one of Grey County’s most beloved natural landmarks, thanks to new accessibility improvements completed by the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority (GSCA).
The upgrades, guided by community input and the Inglis Falls Management Plan, focus on removing key accessibility barriers at the property. Feedback from a 2024 accessibility survey helped shape the project’s final design.
The work included renovations to the existing washroom building, adding two new gender-inclusive, accessible washrooms equipped with automatic doors and baby changing stations. In addition, a newly paved pathway improves access to the washrooms and connects visitors to the existing viewing platform overlooking the scenic falls.
“These improvements represent an important step toward making Inglis Falls more accessible to visitors,” said GSCA Operations Manager Morgan Barrie. “By creating spaces that are inclusive and barrier-free, we are fostering greater participation in outdoor experiences and encouraging more people to connect with nature.”
The project also received strong support from local businesses. Chris Robertson and the team at Extreme Linings and Coatings helped bring the accessible trail to the lookout platform to life. Patrick McCormick of McCormick Painting and Drywall volunteered his time to paint the washroom facilities, while Madison Macdonnell from Grey Bruce Paint & Decor generously donated all the Benjamin Moore paint for the project.
The conservation area is open daily from dawn to dusk, with parking available for $10 plus HST per day. Visitors can also borrow Membership Parking Passes from participating libraries across the GSCA watershed for free access.
GSCA says additional accessibility enhancements at Inglis Falls are being planned for the future.
