Bruce Power is lending a hand to Community Living Wingham and District (CLWD) with a $50,000 donation toward the organization’s $500,000 housing campaign.
The campaign aims to address a growing shortage of housing for people with developmental needs across northern Huron and southern Bruce counties. CLWD President Jim Dore says the funds will go toward creating long-term housing solutions for clients who need 24-hour support.
"We are experiencing a severe backlog of clients seeking accommodation," said Dore. "Bruce Power’s donation significantly bolsters our ability to provide the accommodation and specific support our clients need."
James Scongack, Bruce Power’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, said the company is proud to support CLWD’s mission.
"Fundamental to everyone’s success is the ability to have a safe, supportive and stable place to call home," Scongack said. "We value and believe strongly in Community Living’s mission of enhancing, equalizing and enabling the potential of each member of our communities."
Community Living Wingham and District has supported individuals with developmental needs since 1958. More information can be found at www.wdcla.ca.
