Multiple healthcare workers within the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) were recently given awards.
The Tuer-Hodes Family Awards were presented on Friday at Stratford General Hospital.
Taking home the Nursing Recognition Award for Exceptional Care was Patricia Harper. It's given to a nurse who's demonstrated outstanding commitment to patient care, innovation in practice, and leadership.
"(She) was recognized for her impactful leadership, strong advocacy for patients, and commitment to delivering high-quality care," read a press release about the Tuer-Hodes Family Awards.
Thelaisa Costa was presented with the Interprofessional Practice Recognition Award for Exceptional Care. It's given to a health disciplines team member who leads through collaboration, advocacy, and engagement.
"In her role supporting lab systems and clinical teams across all HPHA sites, (Costa)'s calm, thoughtful approach and dedication to innovation help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient care behind the scenes," read the press release.
The last award, the newly introduced Support Services Impact Award, was given posthumously to Claire Trachsel. It's awarded to a healthcare employee whose work, though not patient-facing, significantly supports positive outcomes and quality care.
"Claire’s dedication, reliability, and warmth had a lasting impact on those who worked with her, and her work helped create a smoother and more compassionate experience for patients, caregivers, and colleagues alike," read the press release.
Trachsel's family was on hand to accept the award on her behalf.
