Wingham school to host human trafficking information night

F.E. Madill High School in Wingham will be the site for a human trafficking information night led by Huron County OPP.

On April 29 at 7 p.m., Huron County OPP and Huron County Victim Services will hold a public information session covering numerous factors involved in human trafficking.

Speakers include Jenn Evans, Operations Manager for Victim Services Huron-Perth, and Ashley Horton, OPP Detective Sergeant and West Region OPP Team Lead with the Anti-Human Trafficking unit.

According to. a media release from the OPP, in Ontario, trafficking primarily for sexual and labour exploitation is rising, with traffickers increasingly targeting vulnerable individuals from small towns.

You can attend the free session and learn how to spot signs of human trafficking, how to report it, and what to do if you feel someone is being exploited as a victim of human trafficking.
