Chatham man charged after hit and run
A 43-year-old Chatham man is facing multiple charges, after police said he drove away from a crash near Thamesville.
Chatham-Kent police responded to a crash near a construction zone on Longwoods Road just after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Investigators determined that the victim got out of his vehicle after the collision and that he was hit by the suspect's vehicle before he left the scene.
No medical attention was required.
The man was found at a residence in Thamesville where police said he failed a breath test and was arrested.
He was taken to police headquarters for further testing and eventually charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a vehicle, failure to stop after an accident, and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg per 100 mL of blood. The man has since been released from police custody with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested after attempting to avoid RIDE program
A Wallaceburg man was arrested because of a weekend RIDE program in Dresden.
According to police, officers spotted a driver turn around to try to avoid the checkpoint shortly after midnight on Saturday.
Police said the driver was found and pulled over about a minute later.
The 39-year-old was arrested after reportedly failing a roadside test.
He faces one count of impaired driving and one count of driving with a suspended licence.

Reported dispute leads to assault, threats charges
Chatham-Kent police arrested a 54-year-old man over the weekend following the report of a domestic dispute.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. on Saturday.
When they arrived, officers determined that the man had physically assaulted a 54-year-old woman by shoving her to the ground and restricting her breathing.
No medical attention was needed, police said.
Further investigation found that the man was violating a probation order. He was charged with two counts of assault, uttering threats, and failure to comply with a probation order.
The man has been released from police custody with conditions and a future court date.
