If you've got hazardous materials at home, Tuesday is your lucky day.
From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Chatham-Kent residents can drop off household hazardous waste at Veolia Environmental Services in Chatham's Bloomfield Business Park.
Materials that will be accepted include cleaning chemicals like bleach and ammonia, as well as gas, oil, paint, pesticides, light bulbs, and batteries.
BBQ propane tanks up to 30 lbs will be accepted.
Residents can also dispose of pharmaceuticals and needles, as well as e-waste including computers, TVs, cell phones, and printers. Needles must be in rigid puncture-proof containers for safety purposes.
The municipality asks that materials be delivered in clearly labelled, sealed containers no larger than 20 litres and that they aren't mixed together.
Staff will remove any waste from your vehicle when you arrive. Containers will not be returned.
The next household hazardous waste day will be Saturday, September 19.
