Local hotel brings home national award

Chatham's Quality Inn is one of 13 hotels that have been awarded for property excellence.

"We are honoured to be recognized by Choice Hotels Canada," said Ahil Eswaran, owner of the hotel.

Every year, Choice Hotels Canada, one of the largest and most successful lodging franchisors in the country, honours its top performers with the Awards for Property Excellence (APEX).

Thirteen awards are handed out across the country in recognition of commitment to guest service and operational excellence.

The Quality Inn in Chatham has been named Best New Entry: Conversion Upper Midscale/Midscale Brands.

"Congratulations to Ahil Eswaran and his family for this well-deserved award," said Brian Leon, CEO, Choice Hotels Canada. "Their hard work and attention to detail has resulted in an impressive hotel that is a phenomenal representation of the Quality brand."

According to Choice Hotels, the Chatham property recently underwent a complete renovation to become what is now an award-winning hotel.

"It's been very rewarding to see the project come together," said Eswaran. "We are thrilled with the outcome and look forward to what the future brings."
