A loss in water pressure has triggered a boil water advisory for several residents in Dover Township.
That includes all consumers of the Chatham-Kent Municipal Water Distribution System in Mitchell's Bay, Grande Pointe, and Bass Haven.
The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit's Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Shanker Nesathurai, says residents need to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it.
That includes water for drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods, and making ice.
Officials say there was a loss in water pressure through the distribution system, and the advisory will remain in place until the Health Unit receives information from the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
The areas impacted by the boil water advisory include Winterline Road Mitchell's Bay, Bay Line up to and including Mitchell's Bay, and Winterline Rd., north of Mitchell's Bay, up to and including Haven Line and Bassette Line.
It also includes Grande Pointe, specifically 7219 St. Philippes Line and properties to the west up to the intersection of St. Philippes Line and Winterline Rd., 7142 & 7143 St. Philippes Line and properties to the west up to 25658 Jacob Rd., Jacob Rd - south of St. Philippes Line to 25507 Jacob Rd., Big Pointe Rd. - North of St. Philippes Line up to 6481 Mallard Line, and all customers on municipal water north of the intersection of St. Philippes Line and Winterline Rd. including 7255 Marsh Line and 7202 Angler Line.
