"Let the fun begin" - new Chatham indoor adventure park opening

Children of all ages will soon be jumping for joy in Chatham.

That's because the Flying Squirrel Indoor Trampoline Park is finally opening at 730 Richmond Street in Chatham on Saturday morning after some delays.

"We’re thrilled to announce that Flying Squirrel Chatham will officially open on December 21st at 10 a.m.!" wrote park officials on their social media on Tuesday. "Flying Squirrel Sports is the ultimate destination for family fun, where gravity takes a backseat and excitement takes the lead! From seasoned adrenaline junkies to families with toddlers and young kids, everyone can enjoy our spring-loaded, urban playground like never before."

The fun centre touts itself as a premiere entertainment destination with plenty of activities and attractions for all ages. Officials said the centre has child-friendly areas with trampolines, climbing walls, laser tag, and a cafe, adding safety is its top priority.

It also noted it can host groups of 20-300 for an "action-packed excursion" and birthday parties with great food, drink, and arcade options.

"We can’t wait to welcome you! Come jump, play, and make unforgettable memories with us," officials added.

Tatro Group of Companies owner Don Tetrault partnered with Cody and Luke Schueler of Flying Squirrel Sports to open the park.

Tetrault previously said he has visited some other trampoline parks in the region and he is really impressed with how Chatham's facility compares to the ones he has seen.

"I have visited a few of these trampoline parks... also one that my partners here have in London and this one is far better, more to do in it, it's bigger, and the quality is much better," said Tetrault. "I think for Chatham-Kent, it's going to attract people from the whole community... and further on and it's going to help growth, businesses, and industry."

The trampoline park was first announced in May 2023 and at that time, the goal was to open the facility in the fall of 2023. The project was delayed a couple of times, though, because of expansion plans and delays in equipment deliveries.
