The United Way Perth Huron is offering residents a chance to satisfy their hunger to help others.
Resource Development Manager Lisa Harper announced people can order a selection of soups or hearty meals from Homegrown Grocer to raise funds for United Way’s local work, including the operation of the Northern Huron Connection Centre in Wingham.
“This fundraiser is a great way for people to give a delicious gift while supporting the Northern Huron Connection Centre and other important programs that help support vulnerable local people,” said Harper. “So, every order makes a difference.”
People can order from a selection of six soups and six hearty meals until December 17. Soups are in 16 oz. containers for $6.50, while Meals are individually portioned and priced at $13.
“Homegrown exists to strengthen bonds within our communities and to see all individuals thrive and prosper,” said David Scherpenzeel, owner of Homegrown Grocer. "Partnerships like the one between Homegrown and United Way allow us to give back to the community that has given so much to us. Everyone goes through difficult times in life and needs a little support. If we can roll up our sleeves and cook food that can create memories amongst families while also helping those who need a little extra support, then truly is there anything more rewarding in life?”
Orders can be placed until December 17. Pickup will be available on January 28 at Homegrown Local Grocer, located at 239 Josephine Street in Wingham.
